TV technology has advanced a lot and has brought in state of art technologies in providing the finest flat-screen TVs in the past 10 years. The greatest aspect of the technology which is used has mainly centered around the compatibility, resolution and size. There has been a Progressive change in the choice and viewing expectations of people In the last 5 to 10 years.
Now The manufacturers have put in perfect features in their flat-screen TV models and made a distinctive advantage of full film effect viewing together with notable sound technology for the product. Today ,there are several types of flat-screen TVs in the market, so you could decide between Plasma, LCD, and a LED TV, you should know a bit about the differences among them.

About Plasma TV:
The display in a Plasma TV is consists of millions of tiny plasma cells, and to put it simply, these cells send out light to make a complete image on the screen as an extremely accurate voltage is applied to them.
Plasma TVs suggest bigger screen size than LCDs. The screen sizes of Plasma TVs which are available in the market include, 30 inch, 42 inch, 50 inch and 63 inch models, however the LCD TVs have smaller screen sizes, which range from 10 inch to 40 inch. Now larger screen sizes of more than 60 inches are being made available in the market. One important point is that, the LCD technology is more flexible and allows wide sort of screen sizes to be grown.

Advantages of Plasma TVs:
1- Plasma TVs have larger display screen sizes.
2- They contains better black levels, and perfect contrast ratio.
3-They can be viewed from any angle, as long as the viewing angle is between 160 to 180 degrees.
4- They have top refreshing rate which captures every small item in a fast action scene.
5- Its screen can display billions of colors, which produces smooth gradations of shades, improves the picture quality to a great range, makes the images life-like and realistic, and responds clearly to fast moving images .

Disadvantages of Plasma TVs:
1- Plasma TVS may not perform as well at higher altitudes.
2- They are probably susceptible to burn-in of static images.
3- They are thicker and heavier than LCD TVs.
4- Plasma TVs produce glare in brightly lit rooms though new advancement in technology has corrected this.

About LCD TVs:
They have Liquid Crystal Displays. this technology is being used in computer monitors, cell phones, and sometimes are found in camera screens. Its screen was first made for computer monitors, and now with the approving LCD TVs technology, they seem to be a bit better when you are playing games on your TV. Choosing the model totally depends on the user, as some like the clear colors in Plasma TV, which is made by its deep black levels.

How does LCD panels work ? It works with liquid crystal solution placing between two polarized glasses. When an electrical voltage is applied to the liquid crystal, the crystals rotate, and this makes changes in the polarization of the light which is passing through them. A LCD panel does not create light by itself. It just filters the light or deducts its back light source to make an image on the screen of LCD.

Advantages of LCD TVs:
1- They have better longevity than the Plasma. The average life-span has been predicted as more than 30 years.
2- Their display uses lower power compared to Plasma TVs, but has much more consumption than LED. The screen sizes of these TVs are available in different sizes starting from computer monitor screens to over 60 inches.

Disadvantages of LCD TVs:
1- It has a very poor contrast level and reacts slower to fast moving images, and creates a blur.
2- The prices of them are higher than the Plasma, and due to the demand and raised production, the prices are gradually falling.

About LED TVs:
The term ‘LED’ stands for Light Emitting Diode. It is an electronic part which sends out light when a certain voltage potential is applied to its terminals. Even though the TV using this technology is call LED TV, but the LED light source is used as the TV’s backlight, while the TV screen is actually LCD. Though some common TV models use CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps), LED form of backlighting stays a far more effective TV backlight system.

The Advantages of LED TVs:
1- These TVs have much more better dynamic contrast level than LCD TVs, as it uses a direct backlighting technology.
2- These TVS are extremely thin as much as about an inch in thickness.
3- The power consumption of these TVs are less than the LCD TVs.
4- These TVs are considered to be most reliable flat screen TVs available in the market today.

The disadvantage of LED TVs:
They are higher priced than LCD TVs, but prices are expected to come down with increased production.
The above explanations are attempts to provide a fundamental conception about the differences between the three technologies which are available in flat-screen TVs ,and this would help buyers to decide which TV to buy Purchase.
